How A Community Was Formed
In October 2017, a catholic friend walked up to my PHYSICALLY SHAKING. I asked him what was wrong? He said he was scared. Being at Mass, and looking around, I asked, “What are you scared of?” He replied, “I am scared that if I go to Purgatory I won’t have anybody to pray for me. My wife is Buddhist. My children don’t go to Mass nor do they pray. I won’t have anybody to help me.” I said, “I know you. If I haven’t seen you in a while I will find out what happened to you. If you passed on, I will make sure I pray for you.” Then, as he processed my words, he stopped shaking, his shoulders became relaxed and he calmed down.
Two weeks later, a lady walked up to me and said practically the same thing. She didn’t have anybody to pray for her either.
Three weeks after that, another lady approached me with the same concerns.
As a marketing maverick, I thought there had to be many more people who are afraid of being ignored after they passed on. Therefore, I changed the website and ministry from Poor Souls Prayers to Purgatory People, with a membership component included, plus we offer a Mass somewhere in the world to help that church community as well as the Purgatory People members, once they begin passing on. For now, we offer a Monthly Mass for the Poor Souls in Purgatory.
